Venus & Economic Boom in India: Astro Analysis

Venus & Economic Boom in India: Astro Analysis

“Him Kundmrinalabham Daityanam Paramam Gurum
Sharvshastrapravaktaram Bhargavam Pranamamyaham”

- Shukra Mantra

Venus in Vedic astrology is considered to be like Maa Lakshmi also. The Mahadasa of Venus bestows on people prosperity, happiness and growth.

India got its independence on 15th August 1947 at 12:00 AM in Delhi. Taurus was the lagna at the time of birth. In Vedic astrology Venus is the lord of Taurus rashi. At the time of birth of Independent India, the most important planet for India was Venus.

Venus as the Lagna lord of India’s horoscope is placed in the 3rd house. 3rd house in predictive astrology signifies Media, Information Technology, Communication, Missile Technology etc.

Venus signifies communication, conveyance, aircrafts, fashion, beauty, tourism etc. Hence, India’s horoscope had an inherent promise that India will grow tremendously in these spheres. Only the right time was required for this growth. Dasa unfolds the inherent promise of the horoscope. Hence, dasa of Venus was awaited to give a push to India’s growth on these lines.

Venus Mahadasa started on India from 12th September 1989 and would continue till 12th September 2009. In predictive astrology the dasa of Lagna lord is the most significant period in the life of an Individual or a Nation.

We can count the achievements of India’s growth from 1989 onwards as follows:-

1) Boom in Information Technology intensified after 1990 and saw the rise of many world level Indian companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Satyam etc. The growth in this sector is linked with both third house and Venus.
2) Boom in airlines industry saw the rise of many private players like Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, Deccan Aviation etc.
3) Boom in Fashion Industry and beauty pageant also started after 1989. Indian fashion and models got international recognition. Many beauties from India were elected as Miss Universes and Miss Worlds. This is because of the grace of Venus as the Mahadasa lord.
4) Communication sector got the biggest fillip in the Mahadasa of Venus. Many telecom giants emerged in India during the last 2 decades changing the concept of telecommunication. Even a common man uses mobile these days.
5) Missile Technology and Satellite launching technology has been perfected during the last two decades. India became the fifth country in the world to put a satellite in the orbit of the Moon for sending information about Moon’s surface. India has been able to develop missiles like Agni, Prithvi, Dhanush etc for its self defense.
6) India has developed as an important tourist destination. The Hotel industry in the country has grown up to an international level. Venus signifies both tourism and hotel industry.
7) Media power has become more dominant, with respect to both print and Television. The strong 3rd house in India’s horoscope gives India an Independent and strong media presence.
8) Diamond is the stone of Venus. In the Mahadasa of Venus from September 1989 onwards diamond industry grew to a very high level. The gems and jewellery companies outperformed in this period and this industry became the biggest foreign exchange earner for the nation for a few years. This industry is in difficulty now as Venus is slowly fading as the Mahadasa will end soon.

As the Venus Mahadasa ends on 12th September 2009, the Mahadasa of Sun will start in the horoscope of India from 12th September 2009. It will continue for 6 years i.e. till 12th September 2015. This period can bring new sectors in limelight like Power, Nuclear Technology, Education, Yoga and Meditation, Spiritualism and Astrology, Gold, Ruby and Ornament business. Sun being the most dominant force for the coming 6 years, there will be strong attraction for Government jobs. Young people may also be attracted towards politics.

Transit of Saturn and Bollywood during Recession

Transit of Saturn and Bollywood during Recession

“NeelanjanSamabhasham Raviputram Yamagrajam
ChayaMartandSambhutam Tam Namami Saneshcharam”

(Shani Mantra)

Saturn is the most mystic planet in our solar system. I say mystic because Saturn has unique look. It is the only planet which has rings around it. It has largest number of natural satellites revolving around it.

Astrologically, good influence of Saturn makes a person unique. It gives luster to an individual (gives charismatic personality like ringed Saturn) and mass following (similar to largest number of satellites which revolve around it).

For success, name and popularity of an individual, Saturn has an important role to play. For public support, popularity and the like Saturn has to be strong in the horoscope may it be the horoscope of politicians, actors, singers or the like. Without Saturn’s help the person even though talented, will not be noticed by masses and he may not become a celebrity and will remain in oblivion.

I am giving two examples of film artists - one from Hollywood and one from Bollywood to understand the role of Saturn in their success.

Angelina Jolie: She was born when Gemini lagna was rising in the eastern horizon. Saturn happens to be placed in lagna in her horoscope. Venus is placed in the 2nd house; Moon is under the influence of benefic Jupiter. The role of Saturn in the horoscope is clear being a benefic lord (9th lord) placed in the lagna bestowing on her charismatic looks and fan following which she commands till now.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: She was born when Virgo was rising in the eastern horizon. In her case Saturn had most important role to play. Being the benefic 5th lord Saturn is placed in the 10th house (karma sthan). Saturn is aspecting the natal Moon (placed in Sagittarius rashi) bestowing charismatic looks and personality to the individual. The “karakamsha lagna” for her is Virgo and Saturn is placed in the 10th house from Virgo (i.e., in Gemini). This, as per “Jaimini” astrology is the yoga for “apaar prashidhi” (mass following). Hence, it is Saturn which made her a celebrity.

I have worked on the horoscopes of many celebrities including actors, politicians and the like. The common thing in all the horoscopes is well placed or yogakaraka Saturn which made persons popular and bestowed charismatic personality on them.

Now, coming to the discussion of Saturn’s transit in Leo, I have discussed in my earlier article that Saturn’s transit in Leo rashi was the major cause of economic slowdown. Bollywood might be among the worst sufferers of this economic slowdown. Profitability in film making will go down. Producers may incur losses. Stars may have to reduce their professional fees in order to be competitive. Bigger the name the biggest will be their losses. Hence, the year will see new stars challenging the older stars and giving them run for their money.

Since, Saturn sets a new trend, the type and quality of films may also change during the recession and after it. Films associated with high moral values will bounce back in production lines.

Retrograde Saturn and Divine Justice: Astro Analysis

Retrograde Saturn and Divine Justice: Astro Analysis

Vedic astrology recognizes 3 types of planetary movements:-
Sama (Normal): In this movement planets move at natural pace. Normally, in mundane astrology this transit signifies all around normalcy and happiness. This is the period when there is quiet development in the economy.
Atichari (Fast): In this movement planets move at relatively faster pace (as if planets are in a hurry of delivering something). This period can trigger boom, or fast growth of economy. However, this is also the period when people start getting over confident.
Vakri (Retrograde): In this movement the planets move backwards (apparently, when viewed from earth). This is the period when deeds done in the past are brought to light. This is the period when the planet is in the mood to review past deeds. The Saturn became retrograde from 1st January 2009 and will remain in retrogression till 17th May 2009.
Retrograde planets have been the subject of research for astrologers over many years. It is the experience of many researchers that during the dasa of retrograde planet, a person can have remembrance of his past life or past deeds.
In mundane astrology, it is believed that retrograde planets have a major role to play in administration of justice. They give us a chance to review our policies. For example, just a few months back, everyone was seeing only the rosy side of privatization. However, the fallout of events after failure of many companies and banks world-wide has put a question mark on the policy of privatization. The belief of people in government banks has increased after seeing the plight of private banks particularly in USA where many banks have gone belly-up.
In my earlier articles I have been emphasizing the role of Saturn in various aspects of human life. The reason for so much emphasis on Saturn is because Saturn is the slowest moving planet among the Navgrahas (which Hindus follow in Vedic Astrology). Being the slowest moving planet it has been assigned the role of Kaal (time). Hence, it is always the transit of Saturn that sets a trend and is instrumental in administration of justice.
Saturn is transiting from its enemy’s sign Leo right now causing problems to people well placed in public, business and film lines. To make the matter worse, Saturn is retrograde right now. Hence, the wrong doings of the past are getting exposed.
This is the period when books of various companies have been opened for scrutiny. The beauty of the thing is that investigating agencies have not raised fingers against them. This is happening spontaneously. The clandestine activities in neighboring counties are coming to light. The mutiny in Bangladesh Rifles and mass murder of officers under alleged instigations has also come to light. Investigations going for long on scams in the country are getting exposed. High placed individuals are being brought to justice.
It seems that Saturn in retrograde state is keen to bring, high placed individuals who have exploited their position for all types of wrong doings, to justice. Therefore, Saturn is working as a divine weapon right now because it is transiting in Leo represented by Sun which is the symbol of power. Hence, people placed in power are subject to divine scrutiny.

Slumdog Millionaire Vs Bollywood: Astro Analysis

Slumdog Millionaire Vs Bollywood: Astro Analysis

In my last article “Transit of Saturn and Bollywood during Recession”, the coming times for Bollywood were discussed. It was plainly stated that Saturn will help the underdogs of the industry who are fighting to survive and who have not been able to win against the established players of the industry. It was also mentioned that a new team of upcoming stars will challenge the established players. The established stars will have to live with fee cuts and reduced offerings.

Here the relevant quote to which I would like to draw attention is “new stars challenging the older stars and giving them run for their money”. The turn of events after Slumdog Millionaire won 8 oscars (8 is very significant because in numerology it is also the number of Saturn) has been on the predicted lines. The lead actress “Frieda Pinto” has got an offer of a whooping 2 to 3 million dollars for her next Hollywood film (as per media reports), a feat which no female lead in India was able to achieve earlier. Though, bollywood actresses have tried their luck in Hollywood, they have only got small and marginal roles in not so popular productions. Hence, we do see youngsters and underdogs giving tough times to even Miss Worlds and Miss Universes.

The second important prediction was “films associated with high moral values will bounce back on production lines”. Saturn, in Vedic astrology stands for the common man. Slumdog Millionaire is a story of struggle of slum dwellers for whom a lowly title “slumdog” was chosen. They lived against all odds including police excesses, human trafficking, gangsters, riots etc and suffered every type of abuse. The story deals with common man with which Saturn is associated. Bollywood produces thousands of films in a year, but they rarely formulate a masterpiece like Slumdog Millionaire. Bollywood films are far away from reality. The production line and commercial film makers never touch the subject of ignorance, poverty and other problems concerning the country. However, Slumdog Millionaire being a commercial success in the world will force producers and directors of Bollywood to make better quality films to earn more.

It is not clear what Aishwarya Rai Bachchan got for her role in “Pink Panther” but it is clear from media reports that “Frieda Pinto” will make 2 to 3 million dollars for her upcoming “Woody Allen” film. The rupees 10 crore to rupees 15 crore bracket remained unachievable by the other lead actresses of India. This shows the powerful effect of Saturn on the underdogs of the film industry.

The Bollywood, is going to change in many ways. There will be adjustments and reductions in the fees of artists. There will be change in the theme of films and the total number of films produced in a single year will also decline.

Resolve Marital Problems

Resolve Marital Problems

Have we taken birth earlier in this World? Who are we? Why are we? These are the basic questions that has to be understood by any soul that incarnates in this world. Many faiths believe that we take numerous births in this universe till the time our soul reaches its zenith and we take salvation.

It is however believed that Sadguru’s (spiritual masters) are unborn in this world, they just assume their body by use of their yogamaya for the betterment of their devotees and for the purpose of doing the work in the world as per the direction of God. Normally, a Sadguru never gets emancipation from this world as he has to come on this world again and again for the betterment of his devotee and to guide them to Mukti. Hence, a Sadguru is by nature a Mukt Aatma (free spirit), having the completeness of Vairagya and Virakti i.e., they are free from the world even when they are in the world. When I see the lotus feet of my Sadguru Shri Sai Nath of Shirdi I feel grateful to him. It is only because of his grace that I am able to bring the secrets of spiritual healing for betterment of people.

How do we use the grace of God or Sadguru in resolving our life problems?

Sometimes back I had a conversation with a saintly person who did a reading for one of his disciple.

His disciple was a lady in middle age (some 45 years of age) who was unmarried, without a family and love. When he asked the reason why this lady was suffering? The saint got a reply from his masters that this lady did not take care of her husband in last birth, rebuked him and never offered any food to him, her husband cursed her, and because of this curse the lady is not getting married in this life.

The observation here is that a person can have a bad marital life because of some curses that the soul is carrying from past life.

So the first step of our guidance is to see what has happened in the past life (this can only be done by the grace of Sadguru and angels) and see what can be done to solve the problems from its origin.

The second step is to help the soul release the guilt, unforgiveness and ideas that are not letting the person enjoy his / her marital life.

Here, there is a huge difference as knowing of guilt and feeling of guilt attracts heavenly punishments but releasing the guilt with the grace of Sadguru and angels helps in freeing the soul from excess karmic imbalances. This is called detoxifying the soul.

The angels and Sadguru can help in bringing loving thoughts of hope, love and compassion in life and can help in releasing hopelessness, faithlessness and other negative aspects. The net result is that a person can have a good life after his healing.

Hence, our approach is to heal the problems by using time tested methods of spiritual healing and angel guidance.

More About Planets

More About Planets

The solar System consists of the Sun and other planets, which revolve around it. In total there are nine planets, which are generally considered for astronomical purposes. Now, scientists claim to locate the tenth planet, which is yet to be named. Sun is actually a star and has light of its own. All other planets get its light from the Sun. The planets forming part of the Solar System are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Some planets have their natural satellites, which revolves around it. In our case Moon is our satellite and it is the closest heavenly body from earth. Therefore, its influence on human beings is quite significant. The word planet is derived from the Greek word planetes, which technically means wanderer. However, the Hindu concept of Planet is Sam Bhavate Sam Grah, which means, "that which influences is called Grah". The effect of planets on human life is now under consideration even by open minded scientist community. It is a well-established fact that various cyclones or floods and high tides are generally seen to occur on a full moon. It has been further clarified as a result of modern researches on the subject that Earthquakes is generally seen to occur at the time of eclipse. The reason being that at the time of eclipse Sun, Moon and the earth is in the same plane. Therefore, the combined gravitational pull is the maximum at that point of time.
Astrological Understanding:
As per "Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra" (Chapter 2 verse 3-4) there are many incarnations of the unborn Lord Janardhan or Vishnu. He has incarnated as the Navgrahas or planets to bestow on the living beings the results of their Karmas or action. He assumed the auspicious form of Grahas to destroy the strength of the demons and to sustain the strength of the Devas (the divine being) and to establish Dharma (religion or faith).
Rama is the incarnation of the Sun, Krishna of the Moon, Narasimha of the Mars, Buddha that of Mercury, Vamana that of Jupiter, Parashurama that of Venus, Koorma that of Saturn. Varaha that of Rahu and Meena that of Ketu. The other incarnations are also from the planets and the stars. The beings with more of Parmatmamsa are called heavenly beings or divine beings.
If we talk of Vedic astrology we exclude planets like Uranus, Neptune and Pluto and include two Chaya Grah (Shadowy Planets) namely Rahu and Ketu. The reason being that when the all knowing Parashara and other Rishis did not consider them there is no reason for us to take them. Our Rahu and Ketu give the same effect. The reason why these planets have been excluded was because these planets stay in one Rashi (Sign) for a very long time. Sometimes, for decades and further these planets are very far away from earth. Therefore, their influences can hardly be considered. Further, in the absence of classical backing it won't be wise to consider them. In astrology we consider both sun and Moon as planets and all our observations are based on Geo - Centric Observations considering the earth as the center of the universe.
With this an attempt has been made to describe the Navgrahas both with regards to Astronomy and its astrological implications with special regards to Vedic Astrology.
Sun
Moon
Mars
Mercury
Jupiter
Venus
Saturn
Rahu & Ketu
Sun
Astronomy:Sun is the father of the entire Solar System. It is the nearest Star and is situated at about 93 million miles from our earth. It is the largest Celestial body in the Solar system and is nearly 750 times larger than all the planets put together. Aditi prayed to sun to be born to her and fight and defeat the demons so that the Gods could get back their due. Sun agreed to it and was born as Aditya. Being the center of all life, force and energy and the giver of Prana, Sun is worshipped as Sun God and is held in high esteem. Westerners call the Sun, Apollo. They consider the Sun is the son of Jupiter and Latona. Apollo is the brother of Diana and is adored by Greeks.Hindus believe that Sun is ever moving in a chariot drawn by seven horses. Mars take 687 days to revolve around the Sun. Mars is smaller than the earth and its diameter is around 4, 200 miles. It is just double the size of Moon. Its mass is about 1/10th the mass of the earth. Mars takes 24hours 37 minutes and 23 seconds to rotate on its axis. Mars resembles our earth in various ways especially with regards to time of rotation and to the tilt in axis, which makes us feel that it is an escaped satellite of Earth. The color of Mars is red.
Mythology:According to Hindu Mythology Mars is considered as Bhumi - putra. He is considered to be the son of mother Earth. It is said that when earth was lying submerged in vast expanse of the sea. Lord Vishnu in his Varaha Avatar lifted the earth and brought it out and placed it in a suitable orbit. Mother earth was grateful and asked for a feminine boon. O God give me a child of yours. As the size of Mercury is very small and its mass is very little its gravitational pull is naturally very weak.
There is no atmosphere around it since it is very close to the Sun. Further, one half of Mercury is very hot and the temperature would be around 360 degrees centigrade; the other half is very cold, much cooler than our arctic region during severe winter. The time of rotation and revolution is the same therefore, only one part of Mercury will face the Sun and other part will always remain dark with temperatures below freezing point.
Mythology: Mercury was born out of association of Moon and Tara the wife of Brihaspati, the Deva guru. The story is that Moon abducted Tara and took refuse in the Ashram of Shukra. Astronomy:Rahu and Ketu have been considered as Grahas in Vedic astrology. They have no physical identity but only mathematically calculated sensitive points having immense influence on the natives of earth.
Moon in its orbit, on a northerly course from South to North, crosses the ecliptic (the apparent path of Sun). This point of intersection is known as Rahu or Dragons head. 180 degrees away from this point, Moon on its southerly course crosses the ecliptic. This point is called the dragon's tail or Ketu.
Rahu and Ketu are unique to our system or astrology. Why so much stress on the point of intersection of the ecliptic is given has to be understood. While sun is the body and Moon is the mind the intersection is bound to give immense effect.
Rahu and Ketu are not stationary in space but have a mean motion of about 19 degrees and 30 minutes in a year. It means it takes about 18 years and 6 months to make a revolution around the Earth. This motion is retrograde. There is a concept of Mean Rahu and True Rahu. In Hindu astrology we take the true position of Rahu and Ketu.
Mythology: This story relates to the great churning of the ocean by the Devas and the Asuras to take out Amrita. Lord Vishnu with the intention of preserving good made it a point that the Amrita should not go to the Asuras. To ensure this he took the form of Mohini. Mohini so maneuvered the sitting arrangement that she got to the Devtas first. The Asura to understand this trick was Swarbhanu. He took the form of Devas and positioned himself in between Sun and Moon. When his term came he also received Amrita from the disguised Lord Vishnu. Before Swarbhanu could drink the Amrita Sun and Moon identified it. Lord Vishnu severed off his head with his Sudarshan Chakra. However, some drops of Amrita had gone down hence both the head and body became immortal. The head represents Rahu and Tail is Ketu.
The severed head was taken by Simihika the mother of Asura Swarbhanu and nursed patiently. The head over a period of time got the body of Serpent and he was named Rahu. A Brahmin named Mini took the body. He brought up this body as his own son. To this body Lord Vishnu granted a serpents head. This became Ketu who in the due course of time became a saintly and revered seer.
Rahu and Ketu have not forgiven Sun and Moon for exposing them and they cause Eclipse. Astrological Significance:
Rahu:Rahu is the significator of the following as per Uttara Kalamrita. a) Faulty Logic b) Harsh speech c) Outcaste d) an irreligious person e) going to a foreign country f) Unclean g) Bones h) abdominal ulcers I) Falsehood j) South western direction k) serpents l) Old age m) Maternal grand father n) Worship of Vana Durga o) Writing Urdu or Persian p) Breathing q) Acute duodenal pain.
It is observed that a strong Rahu is good for the above mentioned significations and weak Rahu shows just the opposite.
Ketu:Ketu is the significator of following as per Uttara Kalamrita a) Worship of Chandi, Ganesh and others b) Medical practitioner c) Vultures d) Final emancipation e) Consumption f) Painful fevers g) Bath in Ganges h) Great penance I) Wind complaints j) Mantra Shastra k) Instability of mind l) Diseases of the stomach and eye m) Vedanta n) Grandfather o) Small pox or boils p) A servant of Shiva q) Association with foreigner or Shudras.
It is observed that a strong Ketu generally gives good result and a malefic Ketu creates lots of hindrances in life.
Other Astrological Consideration:
Rahu: Rahu is in own house in Virgo Rashi. It is exalted when placed in Taurus Rashi while it is debilitated when placed in Scorpio Rashi. However, there are divergent views on this. Some authorities take the Exaltation and Debilitation points as Gemini and Sagittarius respectively. It is said that Rahu gives yogkaraka result if placed in Cancer Rashi. However, it has to be noted that being a Chaya Grah it gives results based on the planetary influences. It is generally observed that with a benefic or in benefic influence it gives very good result. It is generally considered as a good planet for worldly comforts. However, there is lots of Maya attached with Rahu. In modern times Rahu represents Computers and Mass Media.
Rahu is friendly to Jupiter, Venus and Saturn. It considers Sun and Moon as its enemy and towards Mercury it is Neutral.
Ketu:Ketu is exalted when it is placed in Scorpio rashi and debilitated when placed in the Taurus Rashi. However, some authorities have given the Exaltation and Debilitation point as Sagittarius and Gemini respectively. It has to be said that Ketu is more towards spiritual side and is the Karaka for final emancipation whereas Rahu is more towards worldly pleasures. Again it has to be said that being a Chaya Grah gives results according to associations.
Ketu is friendly to Mars, Venus and Saturn. It considers Sun and Moon as his enemies and towards Mercury and Jupiter it is Neutral.

Recession - an astrological and angelic analysis

Recession - an astrological and angelic analysis

In Vedic astrology Saturn is the planet that causes misery, poverty, loss of crops, floods, market slowdown etc. Leo is the sign owned by Sun. Saturn and Sun are arch enemies in Vedic astrology. Hence, whenever Saturn transits into Leo it gives bad results. Sun is the ruler amongst the planets. Therefore, in the transit of Saturn in Leo the worst sufferers are rulers who may be business tycoons, politicians, brand leaders or any other person who functions as a ruler at his own level. The suffering to common man comes because the sufferings of the ruler get transferred to them. Lehman Brothers, Satyam, Unitech, DLF have been big names in the world. Saturn’s transit in Leo caused immense loss to all of them and because of their market position; sufferings got transferred to its employees, stake holders, and the economy.

In Vedic astrology Saturn is the planet that has been considered a Demi-God (devta) who administers justice in the world, by exposing the real picture in front of the world and bringing down the ego of the rulers, autocrats and self seekers by showing them the truth. Saturn causes suffering to those egotists who try to become God of this world.
Religion talks about dark angels who act as messengers of God who follow exactly the God’s directive.........even if it is against humanity, if that's what God wishes. They instigate war, hatred and mass destruction to clean filth and destroy the world so that a new world can be established. In some passages, the angels are regarded as avengers of God's justice.
There are some references about dark angels in the Hebrew original. The relevant quote is - “The riches unjustly accumulated shall be vomited up; an angel shall drag him out of his house;" Saturn is the dark angel who is the divine equalizer who brings justice and equality among beings. He removes people in power and brings order by bringing in new and justified order. Hence, the transit of Saturn in Leo sign sets new order. It brought an end of president rule in Pakistan, brought in many changes in the Government all over the world including the United States of America. First time in the history a Black American (Barack Obama) became the president of America. Saturn is the planet that brings change that benefits people who are oppressed over centuries. Hence, the transit will favor those who are polite, God fearing, mentally and emotionally upright, who are not an embodiment of hatred and exalted ego. For, others there can be more difficulties in times to come.
Saturn will transit out of Leo in September 2009 bringing in some respite to the economy. By this time the job of Saturn as a spiritual teacher will end. The hurricane will subside but, the effect of this transit may take some more time to heal.
To make the matters worse, Jupiter remains debilitated (weak) till November 2009. USA may be providing bail-out packages to American Companies. But, divine grace of bailout is still awaited. After November 2009, Jupiter will gain strength and will come out of the affliction state caused by transit of Rahu over it.
Hence, astrological and angelic interpretation shows that year 2009 is tough for the world economy. Though some respite may be felt from September 2009 onwards. But, major respite shall come only after middle of 2010.
